GUIDANCE INFORMATION

Registration for summer classes with the Adult and Community Education program (ACE) will be Tuesday, May 22nd, 2:00 to 4:00pm here at Leon High School.  ACE classes can help you earn credits and be promoted before the next school year.  See your guidance counselor for an enrollment form.

Do you live in Leon County?  Are you between the ages of 16-21?  Plan to attend the 2012 Youth Resource and Career Expo at the Workforce Plus headquarters on South Monroe Street on Saturday, May 19, between 10 AM – 1 PM.  Dress nicely and bring a resume if you have one.  Network with local employers who are hiring, meet with college reps and military recruiters, and find out what is available in Tallahassee that will help you succeed.   Look for posters around campus with more information.

Helping-Hand2 will be sponsoring a Man up to Save our Sons event on June 9th.  The theme for this year is “Preparing Our Men for a Better Future”.  The event will be held at the University Center Club of Florida State University and will include interactive workshops on resume building, interviewing techniques, and dressing for success.  Registration forms are available in the guidance office or online at www.helpinghand2.org.

The City of Tallahassee is forming a Tallahassee Teen Council.  Council members will serve as youth liaisons for the City of Tallahassee and the group will be expected to make recommendations to City staff regarding teen issues.  Information and applications are available in the guidance office.
